Three men were arrested on Monday (23 April) for their suspected involvement in a series of cheating cases.

The suspects, aged between 24 and 33, allegedly cheated several owners of second-hand mobile phone shops into purchasing counterfeit phones.

According to a police news release, the trio would present forged receipts and invoices to the victims so as to convince them that the mobile phones being sold were brand new and authentic.

All three suspects will be charged with cheating on Wednesday. Those convicted of cheating face a jail term of up to 10 years and a possible fine.
