SERI ISKANDAR: Three students of a boarding school in Parit here were arrested for allegedly bullying and injuring two of their juniors.

The students had their statements taken before being released on bail.

The victims, both aged 14, are currently receiving treatment at the Raja Permaisuri Bainun Hospital (HRPB) here.

The alleged bullying incident occurred at 1am yesterday in the school hostel’s television room.

The victims were asleep when they were awoken and taken to the TV room, where they were kicked and beaten multiple times.

“An initial investigation revealed that the two victims were beaten by a group of students whose faces were covered with cloth. The room was dark and it was hard for the victims to recognise the suspects.

“The victims were then warned not to reveal the incident to others.

“The victims believe that the bullies are Form Three students. (The victims) made a complaint to their teachers (three weeks ago) that the Form Three students were always pressing them for money,” Perak Tengah district police chief Superintendent Mohamad Zainal Abdullah said, adding that police are still trying to identify several other students believed to have been involved in the beating. © New Straits Times Press (M) Bhd
