This Friday, 8 November, ONE Championship makes its final appearance in Manila, Philippines this year with ONE: MASTERS OF FATE.

The world’s largest martial arts organization is set to dazzle fans in the Mall Of Asia Arena with another stellar card.

Ahead of this phenomenal night of match-ups featuring Filipino martial arts icons, homegrown athletes, and international superstars, we look at three reasons why Singaporeans must catch this epic event.

An Evolve Duo Will Kick Things Off

Singaporean fans can see a pair of their favorite Evolve athletes kick things off in the prelims.

Roshan Mainam is a star in the making. The Indian wrestling sensation earned a spot on the Evolve Fight Team after the gym’s global tryouts last November. He is now happily stationed in “The Lion City” and proud to represent his adopted home.

A four-time Delhi State Wrestling Champion, Mainam owns a 3-2 pro record and is known for his formidable skills on the ground. He will make his ONE debut against KWC 1 Flyweight Champion Khon Sichan in a flyweight mixed martial arts bout.

The action continues with Mainam’s teammate, Kim Kyu Sung, stepping up next to face OWS veteran Akihiro “Superjap” Fujisawa.

One of the brightest young mixed martial arts talents from South Korea, Kim will enter this match with an impressive 9-3 record.

The Jeonju native has won more than half of his victories with powerful striking. Kim is also an elite threat on the mat with serious grappling and submission skills.

The Korean holds a Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu purple belt and has two submission wins. At 179cm tall, he is a huge flyweight and will bring both speed and size to thrill the crowd in Manila.

A Titanic Clash Between Two Premier Women Atomweights

No bout will be more explosive than the women’s atomweight mixed martial arts tilt between Stamp Fairtex and Bi “Killer Bee” Nguyen.

Both women are supreme competitors and proven finishers on the global stage.

A two-sport World Champion, Stamp aspires to conquer mixed martial arts and become the first-ever three-sport World Champion in ONE history.

The 21-year-old Pattaya phenom is riding a two-bout win streak, and most recently, she submitted Asha “Knockout Queen” Roka with ease in her ONE mixed martial arts debut.

She will face a tough test against Nguyen – the more accomplished mixed martial artist of the two. The Vietnamese-American standout is a veteran of nine professional bouts and is confident she has the skills and experience to hold her own against the Thai hero.

Both competitors are determined to scale the women’s atomweight division and they will put everything on the line to get the win.

Philippines’ Finest Takes The Circle

Team Lakay boasts one of the greatest rosters of martial artists in Asia, and several of them will compete at ONE: MASTERS OF FATE.

Martial arts legend Eduard “Landslide” Folayang, rising phenom Joshua “The Passion” Pacio, and superstar Geje “Gravity” Eustaquio all call the Baguio City outfit their home.

“Landslide” is on the path of redemption and determined to end his two-match losing skid. The Filipino icon faces Mongolian warrior Amarsanaa “Spear” Tsogookhuu in a battle between two high-level strikers.

Eustaquio takes on highly-touted Finnish flyweight Toni “Dynamite” Tauru in a long-awaited rematch.

The last time these two athletes met, Tauru controlled “Gravity” easily and ended the contest with a quick rear-naked choke.

Since then, his Filipino rival has improved significantly and even held the ONE Flyweight World Title at one point. Eustaquio will look to prove himself against one of the division’s elite submission specialists and continue his run back towards the World Title.

Lastly in the main event of the evening, Pacio defends his ONE Strawweight World Title against Rene “The Challenger” Catalan in an all-Filipino battle.

If Pacio can pull off the win against a decorated veteran like Catalan, the Team Lakay star will truly lay claim to being the division’s undisputed number one.

Both men will want nothing more than to close out 2019 with a win, so fans can expect an intense battle when they meet.
