3 teen suspects arrested for rioting along Petir Road

Three 18-year-old men have been arrested for their suspected involvement in a case of rioting along Petir Road.

The crime was reported to the police at about 7am on 11 March by a 24-year-old man who claimed he had been assaulted by a group of men along Petir Road, a police news release on Thursday (16 March) said. Investigations revealed that the three suspects attacked the victim after a dispute.

Jurong Division officers subsequently established the identities of the suspects, two of whom were arrested in Bukit Panjang and the third nabbed in Choa Chu Kang.

If found guilty of rioting, they each face up to 7 years in jail and are also liable to be caned. Police investigations into the case are ongoing.
