5 Hot Hollywood Looks Now

You may not be attending a red carpet premiere or promoting your latest movie, but these celebs’ recent makeup styles show us how to get that glam look for every day.

The Smokey Eye
At The Hunger Games premiere, star Jennifer Lawrence plays up her beauty with dramatic eye makeup. Like her, you can pile on the dark eyeshadow, eyeliner and mascara, and then use a nude lip colour. Because your eyes are going for full drama, it’s best to keep the rest of your face bare.

The Bright Red Lip
Forever eye-catching, the red lip will give you the high impact you crave on that romantic date.  At The Rum Diary premiere, Amber Heard keeps the rest of her face bare (loading up on the makeup can make you look clownish) to show off her red lips. Liberal use of mascara to lengthen lashes adds to that bombshell look.

Electric Blue
Makeup usually enhances our looks using colours close to our natural shades, but if you have a big, daring personality like Katy Perry, going for the not-usually-seen-on-humans shade of blue can work! Bright blue hair is a bit over the top, but some electric blue eye shadow, eyeliner and mascara add a pop of colour for a fun weekend look.

1950s Glamour
Female stars in the 1950s had a polished glam that still looks stunning today. Mary Kate and Ashley’s sister Elizabeth Olsen works that vintage look during a February 29 appearance on Jay Leno, with berry red lipstick and brown eyeshadow. Eyeliner and blush should be kept to a minimum.

The Falsies
Ever since she broke into superstar status in the late 90s, Jennifer Lopez has never put foot wrong, makeup-wise. She’s brought wearing false eyelashes to a new level of pretty and acceptance as a “natural” look. How to do it: use the falsies for low-key, casual affairs – wear loud clothing, and you could risk looking like a cross-dresser. Also, apply mascara to enhance that “these are my own lashes!” effect.
