ONE: CENTURY is ONE Championship’s 100th event and the single-greatest event in martial arts history.

Before World Champions from all over the world descend upon the Ryogoku Kokugikan in Tokyo, Japan for this historic occasion on Sunday, 13 October, we look at five reasons why ONE: CENTURY will be a landmark moment.

#1 Twenty-Eight World Champions

When The Home Of Martial Arts returns to the Japanese capital, 28 of the 44 athletes on the card will be current or former World Champions.

The amount of talent will offer fans a feast of combat sports unlike anything they have ever experienced.

Japanese fans will be particularly excited to see former ONE Lightweight World Champion Shinya “Tobikan Judan” Aoki take on former ONE Featherweight World Champion Honorio “The Rock” Banario in the co-main event of ONE: CENTURY Part II.

#2 Groundbreaking World Championship Double-Header

No organization has ever promoted two full-scale World Championship events on the same day.

ONE: CENTURY Part I will kick off at 9am local time, which will be primetime Saturday night in America. Then the action continues with ONE: CENTURY Part II at 5pm in Tokyo.

The entire event holds an incredible 22 bouts and promises to be a spectacular showcase, something martial arts fans have never seen before.

#3 Clash Of World Championship Titans

Two-division ONE World Champion Aung La “The Burmese Python” N Sang will defend his ONE Light Heavyweight World Title against ONE Heavyweight World Champion Brandon “The Truth” Vera in the battle to decide ONE’s toughest titan.

The ascent of “The Burmese Python” to become a two-division World Champion is now part of Myanmar folklore. Meanwhile, his opponent is the most dominant ONE Heavyweight World Champion in history.

Both share the ability to finish their opponents in style, and the two big men were bound to collide in the Circle at some point.

This epic encounter cannot come soon enough for all martial arts enthusiasts – and it looks like an absolute blockbuster.

#4 The Biggest Rematch In Women’s Martial Arts

The first bout between “Unstoppable” Angela Lee and “The Panda” Xiong Jing Nan has gone down as a classic.

Xiong outlasted an armbar attempt, then proceeded to score an incredible fifth-round TKO to retain her ONE Women’s Strawweight World Title.

The Chinese superstar now wants to become the promotion’s first ever two-division women’s World Champion. However, if Lee can successfully defend her Atomweight World Title against Xiong at ONE: CENTURY Part I, she will make amends for her earlier loss to the Chinese athlete.

“Unstoppable” and “The Panda” are on a collision course yet again. Expect sparks to fly in this high-stakes rematch.

#5 Three World Grand Prix Championship Finals

Athletes from five countries across three continents will compete in the three World Grand Prix Championship Finals.

On this historic night, a victor will be crowned among the best in the flyweight, lightweight, and ONE Super Series featherweight tournaments.

The pound-for-pound greatest of all-time Demetrious “Mighty Mouse” Johnson faces Filipino prodigy Danny “The King” Kingad in the flyweight final.

Johnson’s American compatriot, Eddie “The Underground King” Alvarez, squares off against Turkish powerhouse Saygid “Dagi” Guseyn Arslanaliev in the lightweight final.

To top off the remarkable night, the greatest prize in kickboxing history is also on the line. Italy’s Giorgio “The Doctor” Petrosyan meets Samy “AK47” Sana for the US$1 million grand prize in the ONE Featherweight Kickboxing World Grand Prix Championship Final.

Check out ONE Championship’s next event, ONE: CENTURY, the biggest World Championship martial arts event in history. No organization has ever promoted two full-scale World Championship events in one day.
