Hornbill Festival, Nagaland

Nagaland, the home of the Hornbill Festival is known as the ‘Land of Festivals’. The Government of Nagaland organises a yearly grand carnival called the Hornbill Festival. It is a celebration of the culture and traditions of the Naga tribes and aimed to promote intercultural harmony. It’s an ideal destination for a roadtrip, with wonderful views on all routes to the festival. The festival itself is a once in a lifetime experience and held on December 1-10 every year. It’s a great opportunity to witness the way of life of the lesser known tribals through exploration of the structure of tribal huts as you immerse yourself for a sensory experience as they celebrate with their best dance forms, costumes, wooden carvings, drums, gongs and a lot more!
