KUALA LUMPUR: Five robbers only took three minutes to escape with RM800,000 worth of jewelleries from a goldsmith shop in a shopping mall in Sri Petaling this afternoon. The five men, all wearing helmets and armed with a pistol and hammers entered the goldmsith shop on the ground floor of a shopping mall here in the 1.45pm incident. Brickfields district deputy police chief Superintendent Arifai Tarawe said the suspects ran into the premises and immediately started smashing the glass display.

“They manage to flee with 12 trays of jewelleries worth about RM800,000 in three minutes. “It is believed that the suspects had pointed an object resembling a pistol at the security guard,” he said when contacted. Arifai said police are hunting for the five men who had fled on three motorcycles. He urged witnesses and those with information to contact the police to facilitate investigation under Section 395 of the Penal Code. © New Straits Times Press (M) Bhd
