Many museums around the world are offering virtual tours, and it's an amazing opportunity to be able to take advantage of seeing incomparable works of art when you can't see them face-t0-face. The Uffizi Gallery in Florence, Italy, came to be in 1560 for Cosimo I de'Medici to display the Granducal Magistratures of Tuscany, and now, it houses a fantastic collection of art, sculpture, and objects. Through Google Arts & Culture, you can tour these galleries from the comfort of your sofa. The Museu de Arte de São Paulo in Brazil, the Van Gogh Museum in Amsterdam, and the Musée d’Orsay in Paris are also among the institutions offering tours.

For the Burgeoning Gardener

Just out this week, Cottage Gardens by Claire Masset is a compilation of both notable and undiscovered gardens that adhere to the Victorian tradition of the relaxed cottage garden that has evolved in style over the years, from the Arts and Crafts movement to now. Take a visual stroll through the garden planted at Sissinghurst by Vita Sackville-West and Harold Nicolson, the Cumbrian home of Beatrix Potter, and the beautiful Alfriston Clergy House in East Sussex. Bonus: When you feel inspired to plant your own cottage garden, Cottage Gardens also includes a guide to plants and advice on how to get started.

The Negroni cocktail is thought to have been dreamed up in the early 20th century in Florence, Italy, at the Bar Casoni. The tale goes that Count Camillo Negroni - just back from the American West - ordered an Americano (usually made with sweet vermouth, Campari, and club soda) with gin swapped in for soda. When it's time for a Zoom or Google Hangout happy hour with your socially-distanced friends, look to this iconic Italian cocktail to transport yourself in spirit to a terrace surrounded by cypress trees - or to this idyllic Portofino farmhouse. For the how-to on creating the perfect cocktail, Eataly has created a step-by-step recipe.

This documentary mini-series, originally aired on BBC, is hosted by architect Piers Taylor and actress and property developer Caroline Quentin and takes viewers through some stunning houses around the world, from California to Portugal to Japan. Now available on Netflix, this series is the perfect show to start for those who love residential architecture - and especially architecture that shines when the surroundings are challenging. Viewers will find houses that are built into the side of a cliff or on the tip of a mountain and seemingly defy the norms of construction.

Since endless family time is now the new normal, activities that the whole crew can enjoy together are paramount. Instead of a road trip to marvel at our country's abundance of natural wonders, spend an afternoon taking a virtual tour of several national parks. Thanks to Google Arts & Culture, you can dive through shipwreck and swim around a coral reef in Florida's Dry Tortugas National Park or take a horseback ride through Bryce Canyon National Park in Utah, all through your laptop or computer. Never seen Old Faithful erupt in person? You can check that off the bucket list as well, thanks to the park's webcam.
