PUTRAJAYA: More than 50,000 people are expected to attend Media Prima Bhd’s (MPB) three-day Gegaria fest, in celebration of the nation’s 61st National Day.
MPB group managing director Datuk Kamal Khalid based his estimates on the long weekend which is expected to draw many outstation visitors to the event.
“We initially wanted to host the fest at a different location but we were advised by Communications and Multimedia Minister Gobind Singh Deo to hold it here.”
“We also wanted to bring back activities to Putrajaya in line with the Prime Minister’s goal to make the administrative capital a focus for activities,” said Kamal on the sidelines of the event in the compound of the Palace of Justice, here today.
This time around the fest adopted the theme Gegaria #KitaPunya in line with the National Day celebrations.
Highlights of the event include sharing sessions by YouTube artistes at the Lifestyle Zone.
Ambassadors for the event include actress Sangeeta Krishnasamy, Hujan’s lead singer Noh Salleh, Bunkface and evergreen cartoonist Ujang. The stars are also expected to hang out at the booth.
Meanwhile Kamal said that a mobile game would also be unveiled at the event.
“As an additional treat to our visitors there will also be concerts throughout the three days of the event,” he told the New Straits Times Press (NSTP), here, today.
Artistes in the line-up are Faizal Tahir, Wany Hasrita, Stacy, Kugiran Masdo, Misha Omar, and Bunkface.
