69-year-old man arrested for allegedly causing fire in Woodlands

A 69-year-old man has been arrested for his suspected involvement in a case of mischief by fire at Woodlands Ring Road.

According to the Singapore Police Force, the police were alerted to a case of a rubbish bin fire at Blk 668 Woodlands Ring Road on Tuesday (24 April). The suspect was identified through ground enquiries and footage from police cameras and arrested in the area within an hour.

A lighter was seized from the man.

Investigations are in progress.

Anyone convicted for the offence of mischief by fire with intent to cause damage to property can be jailed up to seven years and fined.
