PUTRAJAYA: Seven administrative and diplomatic (PTD) officers from the Prime Minister's Department will be remanded today for allegedly misusing funds for 14th General Election.

The senior officers, of Grade 44 to 48 Jusa B in the civil service, arrived at the Putrajaya magistrate's court at 9.05am. They were accompanied by Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC) officers.

It was learned that one of them was a deputy director-general in the Jusa B category and carried a 'Datuk' title.

A MACC spokesperson said the officers were arrested at the Prime Minister's Department at 10pm yesterday.

Previously, MACC had detained 17 people, comprising officers and security guards of the PM's Department on Aug 8, for allegedly misusing RM3.5 million allocated funds for the recent GE14.

They were suspected to have used the allocation for personal use.
