Love by the waters at Saint Pierre

Saint Pierre, another one-Michelin-starred restaurant, offers its “edible romance”-inspired Valentine’s day menu, which will put anyone in the mood for love. Overlooking the scenic Marina Bay waterfront, the restaurant has two seatings for this special day: a four-course meal ($168 per person; 5.30pm – 8pm) and a nine-course menu ($288 per person; 8.45pm – 11pm). If possible, request for a table facing the waters of Marina Bay so you can enjoy views of the sunset.

To begin, you’ll be served a range of creative canapes. You can then opt for the royal Belgian Oscietra caviar on a bed of raw maguro (top up $68), or dive straight into the starters. You will get a pretty dish of pickled kohlrabi turnip, with sweet bafun uni, and steamed Hokkaido hairy crab salad in an apple and uni sauce dressing. Or the king scallop en croute, where the shellfish and aromatic black truffle are wrapped in horenso Japanese spinach, baked in a puff pastry, and partnered with a light champagne emulsion. For the main course, you can tuck into either roasted organic Welsh lamb served with celeriac flavoured with nori seaweed. Or tender Omi wagyu marinated with soy and pear and apple juice, then barbecued to perfection. The meal ends off on an aphrodisiac-packed note: large seasonal aiberry strawberries are served with a white chocolate dome, fruit salad, and a drizzle of 25 year-old balsamic vinegar.
