JOHOR BARU: More than 900 homeowners of an abandoned housing project in Taman Seri Molek Perdana near Taman Saujana, Plentong here, gathered at the site today to demand for their homes to be completed soon, failing which they will seek legal action.

The project, comprising over 1,000 units of low- to medium-cost apartments spread out over seven blocks and priced between RM35,000 and RM250,000, has yet to be completed after seven years.

It was initially developed by Syarikat Perumahan Nasional Berhad (SPNB) in 2010, but a private developer took over the project in 2015.

The project site is now inundated with weeds and the house buyers who turned up today claimed that there were less than 10 workers at the site.

Cosmic Master Development Sdn Bhd, which took over the project, has appealed for a six-month extension.

Its director Chok Kim Sin who was present said the project is still on-going and they had just taken over the development in 2015.

“It is 98 per cent complete and we hope the homeowners can give us six months or till year end to complete the project,” Chok said.
