30 Jul – Aaron Kwok has recently been appointed the ambassador of the first Challenger Cup to promote Asian e-sports.

As reported on Mingpao, the actor, who spoke about his appointment, stated that he hopes to promote the development of e-sports across Hong Kong and Taiwan through this race.

"In fact, racing has always been the dream of countless young people. However, due to economic conditions, it caused limitation to the number of people involved," he said.

"But with the development of technology, nowadays, e-sports is no longer as simple as the old video games. Combined with a racing simulator, the realistic and emotional aspects are greatly enhanced to the degree that it can be comparable to a real car."

Aside from Aaron's appointment, the organiser of the Challenger Cup also launched its red and black panda mascot that can be bought by the public.

Proceeds will be donated to the actor's Aaron Kwok Love And Concern Charity Fund.
