Aaron Kwok unsure about playing Sun Wukong again

23 Feb – Playing the role of Sun Wukong is so tough for Aaron Kwok that the only way he is reprising the role is if the script is inspiring enough for him to do so.

As reported on Mingpao, the actor who spoke about his role in the "The Monkey King 3" recently, shared that he still had to undergo the daily five-hour make-up session for the role and suffered from skin problems after filming the movie, and that is reason enough for him to think twice about doing another Monkey King movie.

"I don't know [if I would do it again]. I am satisfied at doing it twice. That's enough for me right now," he said.

Aaron also admitted that there is a limit to his physical ability to play the role, and that he will only do it again if the script is great.

"We'll let fate decide," he added.

Aside from the make-up and the challenging nature of his role, the actor added that he had to think of a different way to play Sun Wukong since it has been done over and over before by many actors, including Stephen Chow, Huang Bo, and Donnie Yen.

When asked if he is worried that audiences would compare their performances, Aaron said that he is confident in his own interpretation of Sun Wukong.

"I have a background in dance. I can handle a lot of body movement. That's my advantage," he added.
