Sarah Geronimo had been reluctant, at one point, to return to the next season of “The Voice of the Philippines.”

“Noong una, ayaw ko kasi traumang-trauma na ako eh,” Sarah admitted to PEP on having second thoughts coming back as a coach in the second season of the ABS-CBN reality singing competition.

She continued, “It came to a point (during the competition) na parang ayaw ko na. Kasi ang daming bashers, ’di ba?”

Sarah recalled receiving unpleasant comments like, ‘Oy, hindi siya credible,’ ‘Wala namang sense ’yong sinasabi niya,’ or that “maarte raw ako masyado sa Blind Auditions kasi ’di ako ganun ka-frequent umikot.”

She nevertheless noted, “Pero tinanggap ko ‘to and kailangan pangatawanan ko ’yung trabaho o ’yung task na ibinigay sa akin. Kailangan talagang malagpasan ko. Hindi naman with flying colors, pero kailangan mabigyan ko siya ng hard work, ng dedication, so talagang tinapos ko.”

The 25-year-old singer-actress also understands that being part of the show means “This is not about me anymore” but her artists and her team, “So talagang nag-concentrate na lang ako sa kanila at natapos ko naman.”

Eventually, “Nag-yes na po kami for the second season,” Sarah confirmed.

“Masarap sa pakiramdam ang naging bahagi ka ng pagtupad ng pangarap ng ibang tao,” she explained.

“In a way, parang nakakatulong ka na rin kung anuman ’yung naibibigay mo, nashe-share mo sa mga tao. Masarap.”
