ACI Worldwide beats Street 3Q forecasts

NAPLES, Fla. (AP) _ ACI Worldwide Inc. (ACIW) on Thursday reported third-quarter net income of $3.4 million, after reporting a loss in the same period a year earlier.

The Naples, Florida-based company said it had profit of 3 cents per share. Earnings, adjusted for amortization costs and stock option expense, were 15 cents per share.

The results beat Wall Street expectations. The average estimate of five analysts surveyed by Zacks Investment Research was for a loss of 7 cents per share.

The maker of software for electronic payments posted revenue of $225.7 million in the period, also beating Street forecasts. Three analysts surveyed by Zacks expected $218.2 million.

ACI Worldwide expects full-year revenue in the range of $1.01 billion to $1.02 billion.

ACI Worldwide shares have climbed 26 percent since the beginning of the year. The stock has climbed 21 percent in the last 12 months.
