Acne Autumn/Winter 2012

Acne Autumn/Winter 2012

Acne is the cool girls’ go-to label. Which this season, meant lots of clean cut shapes, military touches, oversized knits, enormous waist belts, cropped trousers and split pencil skirts. Everything was paired together to create a sense of balance, from bound-at-the-waist wide-legged trousers worn with slouchy, puffy knits, to low-slung, studded flares teamed with crop top tees and shrunken jackets that rested on the hip. In a palette of maroon, white, mint, khaki, black and denim, with flashes of neon green, this was a collection that dripped urban cool.

Our favourite pieces? The maroon leather cropped trousers with front pockets, pale pink bomber jacket with Dolman sleeves, a pastel pink furry fold-over clutch bag, a coral cocoon coat, neon green oversized polo neck knit, camouflage print shrunken jackets and swing coats, a pastel lilac and pink panelled blazer and finally, a sky-blue leather shift dress with angular layered skirt and eyelet detail. Phew!

Driving a $900,000 Porsche 918 Spyder to the future

It’s more than just its inherent speed, or the whooshing noise that fills the cabin like a school choir jamming with James Hetfield. It’s what it represents in an industry full of skeptics. It’s a portal into the future – a time capsule left by some mad scientist born decades too soon. It’s something that shouldn’t exist. And yet it does.
