ARDSLEY, N.Y. (AP) _ Acorda Therapeutics Inc. (ACOR) on Tuesday reported a fourth-quarter loss of $3.1 million, after reporting a profit in the same period a year earlier.
On a per-share basis, the Ardsley, New York-based company said it had a loss of 7 cents. Earnings, adjusted for one-time gains and costs, were 5 cents per share.
The results fell short of Wall Street expectations. The average estimate of five analysts surveyed by Zacks Investment Research was for earnings of 17 cents per share.
The drugmaker posted revenue of $140.6 million in the period, which also missed Street forecasts. Five analysts surveyed by Zacks expected $141.6 million.
For the year, the company reported a loss of $34.6 million, or 76 cents per share, swinging to a loss in the period. Revenue was reported as $519.6 million.
Acorda shares have risen 30 percent since the beginning of the year. The stock has decreased 27 percent in the last 12 months.
