Local actress Jayley Woo has left Mediacorp as a full-time artist after deciding not to continue her contract with the broadcaster’s talent firm The Celebrity Agency.

The actress wrote in a Facebook post on Tuesday (3 July) that she will still be taking on suitable acting roles despite leaving Mediacorp, meaning that she may still work with the broadcaster in the future on ad hoc projects.

“This decision wasn’t an easy one to make,” the 26-year-old added.

Woo is reportedly pursuing potential opportunities overseas, including possible projects in China.

She has been a staple in Channel 8 programmes in recent times, with major roles in dramas such as Have A Little Faith (2017) and Life Less Ordinary (2017-2018). She made her acting debut in the local drama Jump! in 2012.

She will be in the upcoming Toggle series Glitch, as well as Channel 8 drama Jalan Jalan, which will begin shooting next month.

Woo follows other high-profile local celebrities who have left Mediacorp, which include Michelle Chong, Gurmit Singh, Jeanette Aw, Belinda Lee and Sharon Au, who recently left in February this year.
