Adele says she was 'f****** devastated' about divorce from Simon Konecki

Adele has said she was “f****** devastated” about her split from husband Simon Konecki.

The star, 33, and charity entrepreneur Konecki separated in 2019 after three years of marriage, and their divorce was finalised this year.

The Easy On Me singer told Rolling Stone that the end of their marriage came with the realisation that she was getting further away from being who she wanted to be.

“I didn’t really know myself,” she said. “I thought I did. I don’t know if it was because of my Saturn return or if it was because I was well and truly sort of heading into my thirties, but I just didn’t like who I was.”

“It made me really sad,” she said as she reflected on the end of her marriage.

“Then having so many people that I don’t know know that I didn’t make that work … it f****** devastated me. I was embarrassed. No one made me feel embarrassed, but you feel like you didn’t do a good job.”

The star – whose new album, 30, is thought to have been inspired by her divorce – was with Konecki for several years before they tied the knot.

So when she found herself single again it had been a while since she last dated.

Adele told the magazine that she lasted “five seconds” on the dating scene in Los Angeles, where she has a home.
