Adut Akech Is Pregnant! Supermodel Expecting First Baby with Partner Samuel Elkhier: 'Beyond Blessed'

"I always said I wanted to be a young mom because I love the idea of growing up with your kids," the 24-year-old model told 'Vogue'

Adut Akech is going to be a mom!

The 24-year-old model is expecting her first baby with partner Samuel Elkhier, first sharing the news with Vogue. Akech, who has 10 weeks left in her pregnancy, noted that she knows she's below the average age in the United States for first-time mothers.

"I always said I wanted to be a young mom because I love the idea of growing up with your kids," Akech told the outlet, adding that her mom had her at 20. "The age difference plays a huge role in how close we are."

As she's settled into her pregnancy, Akech says that she's just "excited" for the journey.

"I can't wait. I'm like — can they just come already? I'm kind of over it and I'm just halfway," she joked, continuing to say that pregnancy has been "a beautiful feeling, but a mental and physical rollercoaster. Nothing really ever prepares you for it."

Akech also shared the exciting news on her own Instagram, posting photos from her photo shoot with Vogue. "Beyond BLESSED, GRATEFUL and CANNOT wait to meet our bundle of joy!!! 🤰🏿🤍🥰🤞🏾," she wrote in her caption.

The comments were filled with well-wishes from fans and friends, including supermodel Naomi Campbell who wrote, "Congratulations to my Daughter @adutakech on such a blessing can’t wait to be a grandma ❤️❤️❤️❤️😍."

The model's partner Elkhier also commented on her Instagram post, writing, "Can’t wait to meet our little one! 🥹."
