Satellite images revealing the aftermath of a drone attack on Novorossiysk seaport on the night of May 17 have been released by the Russian service of Radio Svoboda on Telegram.

Satellite images taken on May 18 show signs of a fire at the Novorossiysk sea trade port following a strike by Ukrainian drones.

Attacks on Russian targets on the night of May 17

Explosions were heard in Sevastopol on the night of May 17, according to the local "governor," who cited air defense activity. Following the explosions, a power outage occurred across Crimea. Mikhail Razvozhaev, head of the Sevastopol occupation administration, announced that all schools and kindergartens were closed due to the blackout.

Additionally, drone attacks targeted the oil refinery in Tuapse, Krasnodar Territory, sparking a large-scale fire. Drones were also reported over Novorossiysk in the Krasnodar territory.

The Russian Ministry of Defense stated that its air defenses had "destroyed and intercepted" 102 UAVs and six naval drones during the night and morning of May 17.

Sources familiar with the situation told NV that the SBU and HUR jointly targeted Sevastopol Bay, while scouts hit the Novorossiysk seaport, and the SBU struck the Tuapse oil refinery.

The Russian Telegram channel Astra reported that drones struck at least two oil depots and two terminals in Novorossiysk.
