Afghan crisis hits Ludhiana’s sewing machine industry as export comes to halt

Ludhiana (Punjab), Sep 08 (ANI): As the Taliban took over Afghanistan, imports and exports between the states have been disrupted. With a halt in the exports, the sewing machine industry in Ludhiana, Punjab is bearing the brunt of the present situation in Afghanistan. Ludhiana is considered to be the largest manufacturing hub of the sewing machine industry. It is expected that exports worth Rs 150-200 crores will be disrupted.
