KUALA LUMPUR: Traffic is slow-moving on major highways this afternoon as city dwellers travel to their hometowns as part of the school holidays and Hari Raya Aidiladha celebration.
A Plus Malaysia Berhad spokesman said that as of 5pm, north-bound traffic was moving slowly from Seberang Jaya to Permatang Pauh, from Tapah to Gopeng, and from Slim River to Sungkai.
“South-bound traffic is also slow moving from Nilai to the Seremban Rest and Service (R&R) area; and from Skudai to Senai Utara.
“Congestion is also affecting outbound traffic from Malaysia to Singapore at the Sultan Abu Bakar Complex,” he said.
Meanwhile, a Malaysian Highway Authority (LLM) spokesman said traffic was slow moving from the Gombak Toll Plaza to the Genting Sempah R&R, and from Bukit Tinggi to the Bentong Toll Plaza.
However, traffic on the East Coast Expressway (LPT) 1 and LPT 2 is smooth in both directions.
