KUALA LUMPUR: Deputy Prime Minister Datuk Seri Dr Ahmad Zahid Hamidi performed the funeral prayers with other members of the congregation for Kelantan police chief, Datuk Dr Ab Rahman Ismail at Bukit Aman Mosque, here, today.
Ahmad Zahid, who is also Home Minister, arrived at the mosque about 6.30pm before joining almost 100 police personnel and family members of the deceased.
The prayers were led by the mosque’s chief imam, Supt Ghazali Daud.
Also present was Royal Malaysian Police Management Department director, Datuk Pahlawan Zulkifli Abdullah.
Ab Rahman died from health complications including cardiac arrest at the National Heart Institute (IJN), here, at 3.45pm today.
He will be laid to rest at the Kampung Badak Muslim cemetery in Bachok, Kelantan.
The late Ab Rahman who was appointed as Kelantan police chief on July 18 last year, leaves a wife and seven children. --Bernama
