Aircastle beats Street 4Q forecasts

STAMFORD, Conn. (AP) _ Aircastle Ltd. (AYR) on Tuesday reported fourth-quarter profit of $67.7 million.

The Stamford, Connecticut-based company said it had profit of 86 cents per share. Earnings, adjusted for stock option expense and non-recurring costs, were 90 cents per share.

The results beat Wall Street expectations. The average estimate of seven analysts surveyed by Zacks Investment Research was for earnings of 52 cents per share.

The aircraft leasing company posted revenue of $204.7 million in the period, also beating Street forecasts. Four analysts surveyed by Zacks expected $198.6 million.

For the year, the company reported profit of $151.5 million, or $1.92 per share. Revenue was reported as $773 million.

Aircastle shares have increased 13 percent since the beginning of the year. The stock has climbed 49 percent in the last 12 months.
