Alex Jones confessed she was feeling anxious as she returned to The One Show for the first time since welcoming her third child.

The 44-year-old Welsh TV presenter — who had been on maternity leave since August last year when she welcomed daughter Annie — joined co-host Jermaine Jenas back in the studio on Tuesday evening, and admitted she was feeling a little worried about being away from her kids.

Jones opened the show revealing her new year's resolution, saying: "Mine, Jermaine, is to be a little bit more relaxed, so today [is my] first official day back from maternity.

"My husband Charlie is on paternity and I need to learn to let go a bit of things at home. Let him do it his way. Tricky."

The One Show star has two sons, four-year-old Teddy and two-year-old Kit, as well as four-month-old daughter Annie with husband Charlie Thomson.

Jenas teased: "You don’t seem too happy with Charlie…"

Jones replied: "No, no, no, it’s all good. A little bit anxious, but yeah it’s fine."

It is not the first time the TV presenter has been back on the show since Annie was born. She made a live appearance via videolink in October while breastfeeding baby Annie under an apron in October.

And the same month she appeared in the studio - joined by her three children.

Jones shared a photo on Instagram captioned: "The juggle. Nice to be @bbctheoneshow for a couple of nights but it’s back to the day job for now, looking after these little ones."

The former Strictly Come Dancing contestant, who has hosted BBC's The One Show since 2010, married her husband in 2015 and was worried that at 38 she had left it too late to conceive.
