Ali Lee still nominated despite rumours of forced hiatus

16 Dec – Although she was rumoured to have been forced to go on hiatus by TVB, Ali Lee still received two nominations at the upcoming TVB Anniversary Awards.

As reported on Mingpao, the actress, who spoke to the media at the press conference announcing the nominations, was all smiles when mentioned that she has been nominated TV Queen and Most Popular Female Character for her role as Dr Kennis Ching in the medical drama, "Big White Duel".

"It was unexpected, but I feel very fortunate to have been nominated," she said.

Ali said that a lot of her fans have been expressing support and encouragement for her throughout this period, and that she feels extremely moved by their love for her.

As to whether or not she has a chance to win again this year, she said, "Every candidate has their own strength."

As for the TV King nomination, Ali said that she is in full support of her co-star Lai Lok Yi, but stated that Joel Chan, Kenneth Ma, and Roger Kwok are all strong opponents as well.

The actress herself will be competing against actresses like Selena Lee, who has won Best Actress at an international festival earlier, and award-winning thespian Kara Hui, who recently won Best Actress at the Huading Awards for her role in TVB's "The Defected".
