There have been tears of happiness and tears of utter hysterics on This Morning today (31 March).

And trust Alison Hammond to be putting big smiles on our face and making us guffaw with laughter during these challenging times - even when we're least expecting it.

The much-loved TV star was making chocolate brownies during the show's cookery segment ahead of her appearance on The Great Celebrity Bake Off tonight, and had hosts Holly Willoughby and Phillip Schofield in hysterics when her mixture suddenly went very dry and her spoon became stuck in the mixture.

Not realising she'd missed a vital ingredient, Alison said, perplexed: "It's a little bit dry. It's not normally. It keeps getting stuck."

Holly and Phil noticed her error and dissolved into laughter, with Holly asking whether she had remembered eggs.

It can happen to the best of us, Alison.

"I still feel like you're doing this in your kitchen and you're pretending to be on TV," Holly laughed.

Alison was making viewers at home cry with laughter too, with one saying: "Alison Hammond baking brownies on this morning is the funniest part of my quarantine so far."

Another added: "A MASSIVE THANK YOU TO ALISON HAMMOND for a brilliant cooking segment on #thismorning. Just lifted our spirits so much! I haven't laughed so much! Please can you cook and dance every morning your just AMAZING love you so much."

We can't wait to see what Alison has in store for us tonight...

This Morning airs on weekdays at 12.30pm on ITV.
