ALPHA Camp has been running in Singapore for almost a year now and has just kicked off its 4th batch of coding bootcamp
ALPHA Camp, a tech and startup school in Asia, has raised S$1 million (US$735,000) in its first online coding bootcamp crowdfunding campaign in Taiwan.
With the completion of this campaign, launched on the 5th July 2017 and ended on the 4th August, ALPHA Camp will enrol and start class for 800 students in September 2017.
The goal of this campaign is to train and nurture full-stack web developers, it said in a press release.
ALPHA also aims to encourage Taiwanese talents to leave their comfort zone and seek challenging opportunities abroad. The school will now look forward to create more collaboration opportunities among its students from Taiwan and Singapore to value add their learning, it said in a statement.
Established in 2014, ALPHA Camp is a tech and startup school with presence in Singapore, Taiwan and Hong Kong. It helps students develop future-ready skills, entrepreneurial mindset, and the professional network.
The school enrols even students with no programming background. Before the start of the course, it offers pre-course materials for applicants to review and practice. This is to ensure applicants acquire basic programming knowledge before the start of the class.
The full tuition fees is S$9,200. However, for Singaporean citizens looking for tech careers, its full-time boot camp programmes are eligible for a 70 per cent tuition fee support under the Tech Immersion and Placement Programme (TIPP). The fees after subsidy would be S$2,760 all inclusive. ALPHA Camp also offers study grant to non-Singapore citizens who are committed to learning.
The minimum age for subsidy applicants is 17, and the applicant must pass minimum of 3 credits in any ‘O’ level subjects (or equivalent), including English language.
ALPHA has collaborated with INSEAD to offer a tech entrepreneurship class. It has been running in Singapore for almost a year now and has just kicked off its 4th batch of coding bootcamp. Students of the coding bootcamp come from a diverse background, including freelance dance instructor, ex-lawyer, ex-banker, INSEAD graduate and zookeeper.
In 2015, ALPHA Camp had acquired Singapore-based The Pragmatic Lab for an undisclosed amount.
