Amal Clooney made a glamorous return to the red carpet alongside husband George Clooney at the London premiere of his latest film The Tender Bar.

The human rights lawyer, 43, made a rare appearance with the actor/director wearing a glittering, strapless, sequinned gown in a subtle off-white shade at the premiere during the 65th BFI London Film Festival at The Royal Festival Hall.

The body-skimming, floor length custom-made dress by 16Arlington featured flattering waist-ruching and a floor-brushing train and was embellished with glittering jewels.

She finished the glam look with cream, pointed-toe heels and sparkling drop earrings and added a bold berry lipstick to complete her vintage Hollywood vibe.

Clooney's lipstick was created by celebrity make-up artist, Charlotte Tilbury, and was inspired by the activist. The shade is aptly called 'Amazing Amal', which can be purchased for £28.

Tilbury said: “I wanted to create a soft elegant, berry-pink with the neutral-ness of warm berry, that can be used as a stain, or to add an enlivening pop of colour to any outfit. Amal would wear this to a red carpet or to make a speech”

Across her shoulders the barrister draped a white feather shrug, which added to the glamour of the chic look.

Meanwhile, her husband looked effortlessly dapper in a black suit teamed with a crisp, white shirt and slim black tie.

The couple appeared happy to be back on the red carpet together as they smiled and posed for cameras, with Clooney at one point stepping in to help his wife after she got her gown caught in her shoe.

It was the first time the couple had appeared together at a public event since 2019 when they attended the London premiere of Catch-22, which George Clooney produced and directed.

With the couple parents to twins Ella and Alexander, 4, and both busy with their respective careers, it may be a while before we see them out and about again.

Amal Clooney previously opened up about about how the couple juggle their busy careers and parenthood. “It's probably like many families where both parents work,” she said.

“I'm lucky because I have a very supportive partner. And we do move around a lot, but we manage it, and I feel very lucky.”

Meanwhile, on the red carpet last weekend her husband gave an insight into how the family found quarantining during the coronavirus pandemic. “It was fine,” he told Entertainment Tonight.

“You just feel so bad for the world and all of that, you know? But our kids are four and they were two and a half when it started so you know, they weren't missing out on much out in the world. So, I didn't have to teach them trigonometry at home.”
