Amanda Holden donned a leather dominatrix ensemble to dress up as Disney villain Cruella de Vil for Halloween.

The Britain's Got Talent judge was among many celebrities who got into the spooky spirit to mark 31 October with intricate costumes, that they then shared on social media.

Holden, 50, channelled her best baddie persona as she posed with her youngest daughter Hollie, nine, as the fur-loving baddie from 101 Dalmatians, dressed in thigh-high boots, teamed with leather trousers, jacket, coat and gloves, and black-and-white hair.

The animal-lover and ambassador for Battersea Dogs and Cats' Home joked: "Happy Halloween #CruellaDeVil #HRH potentially 'a very awkward situation’ as ambassador of my beloved @battersea."

Loose Women star Stacey Solomon and her family opted for cute costumes – dressing up as the characters from Pixar animation Monsters, Inc.

Solomon revealed fiance Joe Swash had been in charge of organising the family's Halloween outfits this year, with baby daughter Rose as Boo in a crocheted costume, with Swash wearing a matching hat.

She captioned the picture: "Happy Halloween. Lots of love from me and my little monsters.

"Joe and Leighton were in charge of Halloween this year and they tried so hard bless 'em. My snake hair is cracking me up. To be fair it’s better than my actual hair right now… It’s made me laugh so much all night."

Little Mix singer Jade Thirlwall went all out as a murderous Marge Simpson — covered in yellow body paint, with boyfriend Jordan Stephens, from Rizzle Kicks, as Sideshow Bob from hit cartoon The Simpsons.

The Confetti singer brandished a jewel-encrusted handbag shaped like Homer Simpson's decapitated head and joked: "We killed Homer."

Love Island presenter Laura Whitmore and her comedian husband Iain Stirling used the force for their Halloween inspiration, dressing up as Princess Leia and Han Solo from Star Wars, with their six-month-old daughter as Baby Yoda.

She quipped: "So Han and Leia were in fact baby Yoda’s real parents. Who knew?! Happy Halloween everyone. Be safe, be good and may the force be with you all. Love from my family to yours."

Actor Ryan Thomas and his fiancee, The Only Way Is Essex star Lucy Mecklenburgh, became The Addams Family for the evening.

Thomas's daughter Scarlett with his ex Tina O’Brien was Wednesday and their one-year-old son Roman was Pubert.

Gogglebox star Scarlett Moffatt showed off an intricate jewel-encrusted skull-face, inspired by the Mexican Day of the Dead Calaca decorations.

She captioned the picture: "Happy Halloween Witchesss. Have a fa-boo-lous one."

And former Coronation Street star Michelle Keegan dressed up as singer Tina Turner, declaring: "The only thing scary about my Halloween outfit this year is just how long I’ve waited to dress up at Tina! #simplythebest."

Her husband Mark Wright has been criticised for choosing to dress up as rapper 6ix9ine, who was convicted of a child sex crime.
