Amazon announces Prime Now in London: one-hour delivery for Prime members
Prime Now is launching in London, with one-hour delivery on thousands of items.
Millions of customers in London can now use their Amazon Prime membership to get one-hour delivery on tens of thousands of items, as the company launches Prime Now. The service is available on iOS and Android devices via an app.
Customers can also choose a free "two-hour, same-day delivery slot," explains Christopher North, the Managing Director of Amazon UK. "This is just the beginning. London is our first Prime Now city in the UK and we are already working on making Prime Now available in more postcodes in London and beyond.”
Amazon Prime is growing in popularity. Paid membership worldwide grew by 53% last year, and continues to rise. Prime will no doubt increase this rate. A 30-day free trial is available for UK customers on the Amazon website.
