Ambulance carrying patient flips and crashes in Tapah

TAPAH: An ambulance carrying a patient was involved in an accident at KM 313.1 of the North-South Expressway here today.

The ambulance, which was carrying four people including a medical attendant and the patient, was on its way to Penang from the Sungai Buloh Hospital.

Tapah police district chief Superintendent Somsak Din Keliaw said all those onboard were injured in the 4.40pm incident.

"Preliminary investigations suggest that the ambulance driver lost control of the vehicle after its rear right tyre burst, causing it to hit a road divider and flip on its side,” he said.

Another ambulance was summoned to bring the injured victims to the Raja Permaisuri Bainun Hospital for treatment.
