22 May – Bollywood star Amitabh Bachchan and his family were recently revealed to have invested in a Singapore-based file sharing portal, Ziddu.com.

Venkata Srinivas Meenavalli, founder of the five-year old company confirmed that Amitabh Bachchan and his family have invested in Ziddu.com. The Financial Express says that the Bachchan's have invested about USD250,000 and are expected to invest more later on.

Ziddu.com is a Singapore-based portal owned by Meridian Tech Pte Limited. It offers free cloud storage as well as runs an e-distribution and micro-payment platform.

According to Meenavalli, based on Google Analytics, Ziddu.com generates 1.2 billion page views with visitors from more than 225 countries, making it among the top five file-sharing sites in the world. The company closed the year 2014 with revenues of USD20 million.

Amitabh Bachchan can currently be seen on the big screen in "Piku". Within just two weeks of release, the movie has made a gross of USD17 million worldwide.

Meanwhile Amitabh's son Abhishek Bachchan was not seen accompanying wife Aishwarya Rai Bachchan at Cannes this year. The actress was spotted walking the red carpet alone, though she did reportedly bring their daughter Aaradhya to the film festival.

The many looks and elegant dresses she had sported on the red carpet had been attracting attention and mostly positive comments.

Having taken a hiatus after giving birth to Aaradhya, the former Miss World will return to the world of acting in her upcoming movie "Jazbaa" this year.
