Gaming peripheral company Razer revealed on Tuesday (21 February) their latest collaboration with League of Legends G.O.A.T. pro player Lee “Faker” Sang-hyeok, who will be involved in the design of the Razer DeathAdder V3 Pro Faker Edition.

This is notably the first Razer collab officially tied and licensed to an esports player.

“For years, the DeathAdder has been my weapon of choice. It has helped me achieve great success, but more importantly, it has stuck by me through thick and thin—just like you have,” Faker said in a message to his fans via the Razer website.

He went on to thank them for their “incredible support” that helped him achieve everything he has so far.

“Creating my own mouse was something I’ve always dreamed of, and I hope you love the Razer DeathAdder V3 Pro Faker Edition as much as I do. May it help you play at your best and inspire you to forge your own esports legacy.”

The Razer DeathAdder V3 Pro Faker Edition is customised by Faker himself. It has T1’s signature striking red colour and is decorated with a sketch of a pair of dragon eyes staring menacingly at its user. To make it feel even more special, the left button even has the signature of the LoL G.O.A.T.

Faker's accomplishments

Faker has been an esports legend for nearly a decade, having won three LoL World Championships, a feat he shares with Bae "Bengi" Seong-woong, who was Faker's teammate when T1 won all three championships and is now T1's head coach. He also has two Mid-Season Invitational titles, three All-Stars titles, and 12 LCK (LoL Championship Korea) titles.

Earning the moniker "Unkillable Demon King", he continues to surprise fans with his technique and insane moves in the LoL esports tournaments he continues to participate in.

Faker first teamed up with Razer in 2021, where it was announced that he would be involved in the conceptualisation and design of gaming peripherals and that he would get to design an ergonomic mouse branded after him.

As part of the deal, Razer was also said to supply laptops, keyboards, mice, headsets and other gaming peripherals for the T1 Academy in the same year.

Razer has been known to collaborate with gaming companies, anime, internet personalities, and esports teams. Notably, in 2017, Razer released red T1-branded mice and mousepads.

They also worked with LoL Esports for the Razer BlackWidow X: Tenkeyless League of Legends Esports LPL (League of Legends Pro League) limited edition keyboard.

However, this is the first time that Razer released something designed specifically for an esports player. This also makes Faker the first Razer esports pro that had a gaming device named and licensed after him.
