These are the controversial comments Andrew Sabisky has made
Number 10 aide Andrew Sabisky quit Downing Street on Monday night following a storm over his previous online comments.
The newly-appointed adviser was forced to resign after racist, classist and misogynistic remarks emerged – including some posted on the blog of Dominic Cummings, Boris Johnson’s senior adviser.
Tory MPs were among those who condemned the government for appointing Sabisky, as well as refusing to speak out against him.
But what exactly did he say? Here are some of the comments which ultimately forced him to quit the government.
‘Black Americans have a lower IQ than white Americans’
Sabisky commented on a blog in 2014: “If the mean black American IQ is (best estimate based on a century’s worth of data) around 85, as compared to a mean white American IQ of 100, then if IQ is normally distributed (which it is), you will see a far greater percentage of blacks than whites in the range of IQs below 75 or below, at which point we are close to the typical boundary for mild mental retardation. Typically criminals with IQs below 70 cannot be executed in then USA, I believe.
“That parsimoniously explains the greater diagnostic rates for blacks when it comes to ‘Intellectual disability’. It simply [sic] a consequence of the normal distribution of cognitive ability, because there are significant difference in the group means.”
‘Racial differences in intelligence are genetic in origin’
Sabisky wrote on this blog in 2014: “There are excellent reasons to think the very real racial differences in intelligence are significantly – even mostly – genetic in origin, though the degree is of course a very serious subject of scholarly debate. That debate busily bustles on, and I’m sure we’ll have more precise answers in another 5 years or so, though whether the politicians will pay any attention is debatable. It would be nice if they did from the standpoint of immigration control (in the UK, that is).”
‘Compulsory birth control would prevent creating an underclass’
Sabisky wrote on a Cummings blog, also in 2014: “One way to get around the problems of unplanned pregnancies creating a permanent underclass would be to legally enforce universal uptake of long-term contraception at the onset of puberty. Vaccination laws give it a precedent, I would argue. Given the fairly frequent side-effects of current hormone-based methods we’ll need to come up with some better options (ideally for both sexes), but that shouldn’t be too hard.”
‘Your wife should submit to your sexual demands’
The National uncovered explicit Reddit posts from 2013 in which Sabisky said it was the “duty” of Christian women to submit to her husband’s sexual demands.
In one post, he said: “I think you probably need to take the lead a little bit more. Theologically speaking, she is your wife and should submit to you as unto the Lord.”
Yahoo News UK has chosen not to repeat Sabisky’s subsequent graphic comments.
The paper said the posts were deleted soon after it approached him for comment.
