Android phone maker OnePlus launches iPhone case

Chinese manufacturer OnePlus has launched a case for the iPhone 6 just in time for the Christmas shopping period, reports techcrunch.com.

The launch of the new Sandstone case from OnePlus follows the release of the brand's two new Android phones earlier this year, with the launch OnePlus 2 phone this summer and the OnePlus X phone in October.

An iPhone product is a surprising move from the Android manufacturer, with OnePlus co-founder Carl Pei explaining in a statement, "Although most of my friends have converted to the OnePlus family, there's still a handful stuck with iPhones. This is for them. I think a lot of OnePlus fans can relate."

However a limited number of cases will each come with a physical invite to purchase the OnePlus X, with a small selection of buyers receiving an invite to purchase a special ceramic version of the phone, and a select few even receiving the chance to receive the phone for free.

The case is available online now on OnePlus's website retailing at $19.99.
