Angela Lee, Amir Khan, Xiong Jing Nan Share Inspiration Messages

ONE Championship’s superstars and World Champions are nothing short of inspirational.

Through their performances, they motivate fans across the world to pursue their own greatness, whether in martial arts or in life.

Considering that, here are three martial arts quotes from ONE athletes that’ll help you become more grateful, take your work more seriously, and live as an ambassador for a higher cause.

Angela Lee

After defeating Mei “V.V” Yamaguchi in 2016 to win the ONE Women’s Atomweight World Championship, “Unstoppable” Angela Lee sent her praises and thanks to the family members, friends, and fans who supported her during the quest to win gold.

“I told you guys I was born for this, this moment right here. I worked really hard for it, but I couldn’t do this all by myself. It takes a whole army to build a champion and I’m really lucky to be surrounded by amazing people,” Lee said.

Amir Khan

Amir Khan doesn’t only inspire fans through his captivating performances inside the Circle, but also with his steadfast training outside of it. Here, he reminds every martial artist what they should be mindful of whenever they step onto the gym mats.

“Training is sacred. You have to be dedicated to getting better each day. That’s what it means to be a true martial artist,” Khan said.

“You put in the work, you reap the results. Sometimes things get hard, but you have to push through it both mentally and physically. You have to will yourself to get up every day and put yourself through the paces. Push yourself to the limit, and discover what you are capable of. Over time, you’ll improve drastically.”

Xiong Jing Nan

ONE Women’s Strawweight World Champion The Panda” Xiong Jing Nan epitomizes what it means to be a ONE World Champion. She’s dominant but also humble – so much so that she doesn’t even consider herself an inspiration to her nation. Instead, she sees herself as its martial arts ambassador.

“I do not think I am qualified to say I am inspiring my nation. But, I could use myself to inspire more people in China – those who have the talent and interest in martial arts,” Xiong said.

“I want the world to see the power of Chinese martial arts through me. I’m really glad to be showing the world that Chinese martial arts is on a different level now.”
