PETALING JAYA: A decomposed body of a man, with his hands and legs tied, was fished out of the Klang river, near Kampung Semarak, PJ3, here this morning.

Angler Mohd Razali Mohd Zain, 59, said he spotted the body floating in the river at 8.30am.

“I came here with my son around 8am. Not long after, my fishing line caught a plastic bag. I went down to the river bank to unhook it and that was when I saw a floating object.

“At first I thought it was a mannequin, but as I went for a closer look, it turned out to be the body of a man. His hands and legs were tied up,” he said when met at the scene.

Meanwhile, Petaling Jaya police chief Assistant Commissioner Mohd Zani Che Din said when authorities pulled the body out of the water, they found a 15kg stone tied to the victim’s waist.

“We are looking at several possibilities including that the body was dumped somewhere else and brought here by the current,

“So far, we have yet to determine the victim's identity. Initial checks showed the body was in the water for at least three to four days,"

Mohd Zani urged those with missing family members to contact the PJ police to assist the investigation. © New Straits Times Press (M) Bhd
