KUALA LUMPUR: Tan Sri Annuar Musa today said he is unfazed by Minister of Rural and Regional Development Rina Harun’s withering remark against him.

The former Mara chairman was responding to Rina’s statement that the Pakatan Harapan government will not appoint “anyone like Annuar Musa” to lead the council.

Describing her remark as “petty”, he said Rina was still new and had a long way to go before she could make statements about previous office-bearers.

Yesterday, Rina had said that the newly-appointed Mara chairman will not be someone like Annuar.

She was quoted saying: “We will no longer have anyone like Annuar Musa in Mara”.

Annuar said he will take her criticism in his stride, adding that it does not affect his credibility.

“I can also say that there is nobody like me in Bersatu (Parti Pribumi Bersatu Malaysia) who is good enough to lead Mara.

“Never mind. I do not need to entertain petty things like this,” he said in an exclusive interview at his office in Menara Dato’ Onn here yesterday.

Rina had said that a credible and qualified person would be chosen to lead the organisation.

Annuar was appointed Mara chairman since July 2013, as well as chairman of Mara Investment Bhd.

He was asked to go on leave on Jan 31 last year pending an internal Mara audit into allegations on the sponsorship of Kelantan Football Association by two Mara subsidiaries. © New Straits Times Press (M) Bhd
