KUALA LUMPUR: Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Razak’s prudent and wise management of Malaysia’s national affairs has largely benefited the country and its people.

Umno Information chief Tan Sri Annuar Musa said attempts to defame, launch hate campaigns and efforts to frighten the people with fabricated stories no longer work as they were being rejected by the people.

He said the country’s economic situation is more stable and the Economic Transformation Plan has brought about huge benefits.

“Our currency rose to a more than three per cent, making it the best performing Asian currency since early this year and is expected to strengthen further.

“World oil prices that surpassed the critical level and now exceeds the projected state budget resulted in higher national income.

“The Goods and Services Tax was implemented to transform the country’s tax system and broaden the revenue base, which made the economy more resilient,” he said in a statement today.

Annuar said 1Malaysia Development Berhad (1MDB) would soon emerge as a successful strategic investment entity, following the government’s effort in successfully recovering 1MDB.

Besides that, Najib has put the country in the best position in history. Malaysia’s relationship with the United States, China, India and Arab Saudi, among others, remained strong under ‘Najiblomatic’, he said.

“Najib had also strengthened Umno, making it more stable, strong and organised than before. This has improved solidarity among Barisan Nasional members.

“We hope the country will continue to improve towards a becoming a successful nation.”
