Annuar: PH govt is a kakistocracy

KUALA LUMPUR: Umno secretary-general Tan Sri Annuar Musa has described the Pakatan Harapan (PH) government as a `'kakistocracy' run by irresponsible people who had failed to deliver on their promises. He said the rakyat could judge for themselves how the government had failed to deliver on the 10 promises which they pledged to fulfill within 100-days of taking office. "Instead of seeing the promises fulfilled, we’ve had nothing but the highest level of kakistocracy, where people were told the PH manifesto is not the bible. “This is nothing short of insulting the people,” he said in a statement. (The MerriamWebster dictionary lists kakistocracy as a government by the worst people. It is derived from the word Kakistos which is Greek for worst.) Annuar said government leaders washing their hands off the promises showed that they never intended to fulfill what was listed in the PH manifesto at all. He added that since taking over the administration from Barisan Nasional (BN), PH had done nothing but focussed on attacking the previous government. “Even their own side has realised this...PKR vice-president Rafizi Ramli himself reminded them about it recently. “However, they have continued building the sentiment that they cannot fulfill the promises because of the wrongdoings of the previous administration,” he said. Annuar said people were getting tired of such excuses and PH needed to be more responsible in managing the country. The Ketereh member of parliament went on to list all the promises which PH had failed to deliver, pointing out that the government had only fulfilled three out of the 10 which had been listed in their manifesto. © New Straits Times Press (M) Bhd
