IPOH: Another 47 students were diagnosed with influenza-like illness (ILI), bringing the total number of students infected up to 512 from 465 students yesterday.
Perak Health Department in a statement today said the latest cases reported involved 39 students from Sekolah Menengah Agama Sultan Azlan Shah in Bota and Sekolah Menengah Tahfiz Darul Ridzuan in Tapah.
“Another eight students are from Sekolah Raja Perempuan Taayah and Sekolah Menengah Abdul Rahman Talib. Two students are also currently warded at Raja Permaisuri Bainun Hospital here and KPJ Rawang in Selangor.
“Further checks on the students showed that there were no complications and all of them are only displaying mild symptoms,” said the statement.
At present 230 students from Sekolah Menengah Raja Perempuan Taayah are found to have ILI, Sekolah Tuanku Abdul Rahman (115), Sekolah Menengah Abdul Rahman Talib (87), Sekolah Menengah Agama Darul Ridzuan (26), Sekolah Izzudin Shah (25), Kolej Vokasional Slim River (13), Sekolah Menengah Agama Sultan Azlan Shah (13) and Sekolah Kebangsaan Klebang Jaya (3).
