PUTRAJAYA: Datuk Seri Dr Ahmad Zahid Hamidi is required to be present at the Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC) headquarters, here, for another round of questioning tomorrow.
Leaving the building at 6.13pm today, the Umno president nodded his head when reporters asked if he would be coming again tomorrow.
He however refused to answer questions or issue a statement, except to extend his appreciation to members of the media who had been waiting for him the whole day outside the building.
Ahmad Zahid arrived at the commission at 9.16am today for the second day in a row to have his statement recorded over the alleged misappropriation of RM800,000 in Yayasan Akal Budi funds.
Sporting an olive green batik shirt, Ahmad Zahid arrived in a white Toyota Lexus sports utility vehicle and waved and smiled at reporters who were outside the MACC building, upon his arrival.
Today marks Ahmad Zahid's fourth visit to the MACC headquarters since July.
Having spent about nine hours at MACC today, the Bagan Datuk MP also had a full day yesterday, having spent more than eight hours in the building.
His daughter Datuk Nurulhidayah Ahmad Zahid and brother Datuk Seri Mohamad Nasaee Ahmad Tarmizi also had their statements recorded yesterday to facilitate investigation into the same case.
Meanwhile, a source from the MACC informed that the graft busters recorded the statement of Ahmad Zahid's son-in-law today.
Datuk Saiful Nizam Mohd Yusoff is married to Nurulhidayah and was called in with regard to misappropriation of the foundation's funds.
"Yes, MACC today called in Ahmad Zahid and his son-in-law to have their statements recorded," the source said. — Reports by Manirajan Ramasamy, Nor Azizah Mokhtar and Fahmy Azril Rosli © New Straits Times Press (M) Bhd
