President Benigno Aquino III is at the peak of his popularity, mid-way through his term.
A Social Weather Stations poll originally published in Businessworld Thursday showed that satisfaction with Aquino soared to a new record by the end of June.
Out the 1,200 respondents nationwide, 75 percent were satisfied with Aquino. Only 9 percent were dissatisfied while the rest were unsure.
This gave Aquino a “very good” net satisfaction rating of +66, up 13 points from the previous +53.
The President’s latest scores also beat the previous peaks of +64 recorded in September and November 2010.
Aquino scored highest on issues of provision of basic education (+58 points) and poverty reduction (+57 points).
He was most popular in Visayas during the survey period, meanwhile, with his satisfaction ratings at +76 points in the area.
He also became more popular in Metro Manila (+53) and the rest of Luzon (+68). Mindanao respondents gave Aquino a score of +63.
In terms of socio-economic class, the poor (class E) gave Aquino the highest satisfaction ratings of +71.
Aquino got a score of +65 among the masa (class D). The rich were not as satisfied with Aquino, though his score remained “very good” at +61.
