Ara Mina announces withdrawal from her drama

The actress refuses to explain the reason behind her recent online announcement

9 Jan - Actress Ara Mina sparked speculations recently when she announced online that she is quitting her upcoming drama, "Pinulot Ka Lang Sa Lupa", although the why is yet to be determined.

As reported on Journal, the actress shared her announcement online, and wrote, "I have been in this industry for more than two decades, and I have continued to work. Although it was hard sometimes, I don't complain, because I'm a very patient person and I'm not overly sensitive. I'm very open-minded and understanding.

"But recently, I experienced what may be the disappointing event in my career. I have never felt slighted and devalued like how I am feeling right now. And it's because of this one show that I committed myself to," she added.

Mina stated that she honoured her contract and commitment since day one, even when the project was delayed for so long. However, her loyalty backfired on her, she said.

"Now, I want out. I will not tolerate this. Not because I think highly of myself. But I know my worth. And for me to be able to work well, you need to show respect for me as an actor. Yes, I need to work. I am a single mother. But, I can't allow them to devalue me any further. There are surely better people to work with. Therefore, I quit! "

When asked the reason behind her decision, Mina recently stated that she would rather not elaborate more on the subject. She had also since deleted the Instagram post.

The team of the GMA drama has yet to address the issue at the time of writing.
