Archos reveals Citee Connect, first Google Android Scooter

If you've ever thought about using a scooter to commute to work, you'll want to check out the ARCHOS Citee Connect, the first ever Google Android Scooter that comes with navigation apps.

With the Citee Connect commuters can travel at up to 25 km/hr with Google Maps to guide them.

Below the handles of the ARCHOS Citee Connect lies the high definition touch screen that is connected to 3G. Encased in a way that'll protect it from bad weather and any minor fender benders, the urban ride's display is designed to handle everyday usage. What's more, it's embedded with Google Android 8 Oreo, so suburbanites can enjoy the millions of apps Google Play has to offer, while on the go. Although checking Facebook while in traffic is clearly not advisable.

The scooter's 5-inch dashboard display is powered by a quad-core processor, with 1GB of RAM and 8GB of flash memory. And as it's connected via 3G, it can also give live directions, speed info as well as the distance traveled.

Once fully charged, the 250W motor and 36V battery will get city commuters as far as 18-22 km. Furthermore, the battery life, which can be monitored on the screen, gets a little boost each time the rider brakes, thanks to its energy recovering system.

As for the actual scooter itself, Archos describes it as “made of aluminum, for a maximum of lightness and resistance” with “ergonomic handles and large wheels (8.5 inches), puncture-proof and dimpled for better suspension.” Acceleration and deceleration can be adjusted at the handlebars.

Foldable, and weighing less than 12 kg (26 lb), the ARCHOS Citee Connect can easily be pictured on the French metro, carried under the arm. After all, it was probably inspired by Europeans and will most likely be sold to them first, with Archos pricing it at €499.99 (around $615). It will likely hit shelves in the summer of 2018.

The French consumer electronics company's newest launch will be exhibited at Mobile World Congress in Barcelona next week.
